Night
Around here, nothing is alive between the hours of 1-3 AM, well so I thought. I was outside on the porch last night just listening. Last night it was about 62 degrees, which is unusually warm. I closed my eyes and just listened. At first it was completely silent, not a thing to be heard. Then I focused. I could hear the electricity jolting through the power lines. I could hear the cows mooing 2 fields over. I could hear the coyotes laughing and the dogs barking from my neighbors house. I could hear Ol' Gray, he's a great big owl that hangs around our house. I could hear the sound of the wind rustling through the tree's and the chickens clucking from inside the garage. And if I listened real close, I could hear the stream that flows at the bottom of the hill. I was actually very amazed at what I could hear at night and I think it's beautiful.
