When the green light gives the permission to go
Cars slide on ice and get stuck in the snow

Don’t stay out too long you might get frostbite
And trust me it won’t feel right

The last leaves fall off of the big tree
This cold weather really bothers me

Shoveling snow, I’ve been out here for over an hour
Snow pile is as big as a tower

Mother tells me to start a fire
As she sits on her butt and watches Empire

It’s soaring, it’s so high- I’m talking about our heating bill
As my dad’s bank account dwindles, it gives him a chill

I have to wear three shirts to keep from getting cold
That means there is three times the amount of laundry I have to wash and fold.

My intent was to show people that I don't like winter.  I often get frostbite, watch cars get stuck in the snow, and have to walk to school through the snow.  Michigan seems to be stuck in an endless winter this year which inspired this piece.
