Worth It
You had a bad day,
you felt like things were just falling apart,
you shared your feelings with me, something you had never done before,
I listened and helped make you feel better.
Boredom got to you,
and it was one a.m in the morning, you asked me if i wanted to take a drive
I was exhausted, but I didn’t mind because I was with you.
Laughter filled your body,
you wanted to make silly jokes, you asked me to help you come up
with some along with you, I was in a bad mood, but I hid it away
because I loved seeing you smile.
Sleep just wasn’t happening for you,
so you texted me, and we talked for what seemed like hours,
I had almost no energy, but I stayed up anyway,
and it was fun.
Somewhere between the
Late night drives, the silly jokes, and the
endless exchanged words,
I fell in love…
you don’t know it yet, but that’s okay because one day you will,
and it will all make sense.
It will make sense why
all the late night drives, the silly jokes and the
endless exchanged words, ended up being worth it to me.

I wrote this piece to express how a simple, innocent friendship could turn into so much more just by the little things you never new meant so much to you.
