These words are like a flood,
Flowing through my blood.
They reach my mind and begin their attack;
I just wish I could take it all back.
This is the side of me that makes my life hard.
Life keeps playing this card,
And I have a bad deck.
I am starting to feel like a complete wreck.
Nothing can stop this reaction from occurring;
Together everything is blurring.
I am again surrounded;
My mind is being pounded.
I just beg for a day that does not end like this,
One that is full of bliss.
But I guess I am out of wishes;
I am thrown to the side with the dirty dishes.
My adventures are unsuccessful,
And my trail will be disrespectful.
I will soon be locked away.
My mind will become the prey,
Just as it is tonight.
Either fight
And stand my ground,
Or be pushed down.

The author's comments:

This poem, like most of my poetry, attempts to reach out to those who are in a time of despair and feel alone. I hope to show them that they are not alone in their battles by providing what it was like for me when I was going through my own struggles in a powerful, poetic way.
