Hearts
AUTHOR’S NOTE: Cards are full of meaning and have held symbolism for centuries; Diamonds, Spades, Hearts and Clubs all have a deep meaning. The Diamonds represents fall, career, values, security, judgment, adult, responsibility, entertainment, and fire. That is only a representative of a suit, so even inside suits there are a multitude of cards. Each of these cards also have meaning, like how the number seven represents victory, but the seven of clubs represents disappointment. Five represents restlessness, while the five of hearts represents confusion. Each card, suit, and number has its story, and the suit of Hearts is one of the special four holding arguably the most deep of meaning.
Every card is a special little thing,
Full of deep secrets waiting to sing,
Covered in colour, numbers and pattern,
Their representation all sadly scattered.
The Ace of Hearts is full of passion;
Love for one another, and filled with loving action,
Where two people can truly love,
And follow each other always, when push comes to shove
The Two of Hearts is like the ace,
Love signs, in its face,
But follows the idea more like commitment,
Like getting married, starting a life blueprint.
The Three of Hearts is a sign lying ahead,
Opportunity hanging by a cable or thread,
Where choices made in seconds change its life,
To become a famous singer or just a housewife.
The Four of Hearts introduces how,
Inspiration, a life-changing vow,
With motivation to change its destiny,
For the better of earth, or for its own family.
The Five of Hearts starts distaste,
A sign of apathy covering its face,
Having no interest in life or others,
Lack of concern for sisters and brothers.
The Six of Hearts destroys self-innocence,
Regret fills its face, with heart turned intense,
The past covers its mind with the future gone cold,
No action can change it, no matter how bold.
The Seven of Hearts brings a new world,
Fantasy engulfs the mind of this pearl,
Where imagination is a healthy thing to have,
But going too far can turn things bad.
The Eight of Hearts is unhealthy obsession,
Stealing a soul; the other absent of passion,
Unrequited love, life goes unfair,
A turn for the worst and obsession only bares.
The Nine of Hearts is a special card,
Full of hatred and full of scars,
Where it’s the opposite of passion, and love,
And can lead to killing, stealing, all with a glove.
The Ten of Hearts, the last of numbers,
Is isolation, lack of friends and slumber,
It’s the most lonely card, lacking connection,
It lives without love or any affection.
The Queen of Hearts is a follower of the ace,
Compassion, passion, love in its face,
It is blinded by the beauty of another,
Blinded by affection from one lover.
The King of Hearts is the combination of all,
It soon becomes too much and it begins to fall,
Before it dies naturally of a scarred essence,
It shows suicide, embodying Charles VII.
One card is left over; didn’t notice? Didn’t see?
It was skipped over, on purpose from me,
The Jack of Hearts is the sign of the worst,
A sin out of impulse, putting itself first.
The Jack of Hearts shows deep envy,
Full of anger, regret, overall jealousy,
It’s the world’s worst card, but part of a flush,
The strongest hand, even with its mistrust.
The Jack of Hearts is a horrible card,
It has no reason of being a part,
A part of a hand, a deck, and a game,
It’s the worst feeling, a feeling with truly, only, purely pain.
