To Taste the Freedom
When was the last time you listened to the voices in the wind. Do you know the color palate of the sky as the world turns? When have you smelt the crisp air in the morning?
When have you just paused and listened to the ancient language of the trees,
the orchestrated songs of the birds, and seen the endless shades of green?
When did you last feel the grass playfully tickling your toes
and the wind gently wafting up the smell of the rich soil?
To see the liquid starry silver, rippling across the glass mirror. Our goal is so often to get from one day to the next,
to finish whatever task is at hand.
But we need to stop and listen.
To enter a world of calm chaos, an orderly anarchy.
Where we aren’t labeled by class or clothes or success but are just a being of nature,
and to hear the quiet sounds whispering our names,
to smell the heavy scent of the earth,
to feel the gentle breeze kiss our face,
and to taste the freedom.
