February
February, the starkest of all the months.
The month with tons of snow and lengthening days.
One of the most hated months,
Though February can be a pretty month.
The sun beaming through the bare trees.
Trees that look like skeletons dancing with the breeze.
Smell the brisk air,
See clear silver skies,
Feel a cold gust.
February opens the door, for all to see had been covered by leaves.
Things we did not know existed.
But the shivering of spring waiting for the leaves to return.
Wanting to bring warmth, and longer days.
February will end.
The leaves will come back,
The air will be warm,
And all the true beauty will be gone.
