When you
When you can stand still and strong,
as society drags its shadows and mace of hurt along.
When all you have built up and held crashes down.
When all you see you see is all of it ripped and thrown down.
As it is ripped and pulls you to a maddening place,
all they see is that mask of a smile on your face.
When all of the muscles in your heart and veins,
are lurching and throbbing in pain.
And all you can do is let out that small cry,
then your heart is only spoken in words of hurt because you just can't say goodbye.
All you want to to do is take that hurt and rip it apart.
Then howl in the words of Poe "Take thy beak from my heart!"
When you think all is lost,
and you embrace the breeze of the nearing frost.
There is still a voice in the distant reach of your mind,
and it is still screaming "There is more to find!"
For all is not lost in your mind and heart,
even if it seems all you love is torn apart.
It is still there to welcome you,
when it all is there after you've made it through.
When it frees you from the grip of the freeze of lost,
and all the warmth melts the frost.
You can always make it through the pain,
even if it leaves a small pain.
You can raise that mask of a smile,
and you feel as if you've passed the mile.
Now as you stare into the dark feel abyss,
as you look over all that you miss.
You can see it's not about When you have to,
its about When you can do.
Because even in the cold grasp of want,
not everything you want and is good in life can be held as it frolics in its taunt.
