Why Am I?
Why am I the one who always cares?
Who reaches out to others when nobody's there
Why am I the one, who is never wanted?
Faithful and loyal but always taunted
Why am I the one, to make wishes come true?
But could never have asked for a table for two
Why am I the one, who acts all nice?
But really inside I'm cold as ice
Why am I the one, who's a pillar for all?
Seeming so strong but ready to fall l
Why am I the one, to say I'm there?
When really I know they never care

As a kid I had never really felt for anyone, I did not have friends or anyone to tell how I feel. I would talk to many people but always to find out after everything I did for them that I was only second best to them. This poem is my attmept to translate that feeling of emptiness into words. Although my words aren't complex, they have meaning and power, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels like this. If I can let even one person know that they are loved then my poem will have served it's pupose. Thank you for the consideration.
