My Middle School Self
My middle school self was the worst.
She was loud and obnoxious, and I don’t even want to talk about how she dressed.
She was not socially acceptable at all
until March of our 8th grade year.
That is when I started hanging out with this girl named Anna.
I had never been friends with anyone like her.
Everyone either loved her or hated her,
and they only hated her because they wanted to be her.
She talked to cute boys, and they talked back.
She wore cute clothes and always looked pretty.
She told me how to dress, how to walk and how to act.
I grew up, and I didn’t act like my younger self.
We haven’t talked since then, but I have always wanted to thank Anna
not only for changing me, but for leaving when there was almost nothing left of me.
