Ode to my Uke MAG
  Tink-plink,
  strum-hum,
  my fingers
  thumb over
  subtle strings.
  Shy sisters
  sing out
  lullabies and
  slowly coax
  each other back
  to sleep.
  An island’s breeze
  leaks wistfully from
  its tuning keys. Palm
  trees spring from
  its waning waist.
  My favorite tunes turn lax
  and carefree, never-minding
  my fine mind unwinding
  clearly into a
  sea of gold.
