a wonderful thing

the bliss of the air

flying past your face

as your hair whips in the wind

behind you 

some nights lifes enemy

creeps into your bed

and it becomes your challenge

to beckon it away

at the wave of a hand

and then you must dwell

in the joys of the day

bells ringing

the smell of the sea

laughing

singing

dancing

all lifes doing

and with a tip of a hat

it becomes your tool

to keep in your pocket

and take out

when the day needs a little helping

through its time

the moral of my ode is so

that life may not be a challenge

but a lifestyle

to bring out when needed

and keep in when not

and let the fates do their jobs

as they guide us down

the old beaten path

of life
