Blues
Blue
If I were a color it would be blue
like my Spider-Man blanket
my mother bought me
which made me feel safe while I lay
in my bed with tears rolling down my face.
Not letting anyone in my room
because I felt that someone might notice,
that something was different about me
that hours before I got home,
I was locked in a car fighting to keep my clothes on,
screaming the word stop
even though there wasn't anyone around to hear me.
There was nothing I could do but fight
as hard as I could to get those hands off of me.

Joenetta is from the city that never sleeps, Las Vegas but currently live in Southern California. She would rather be anywhere but home so you could find her at the beach even it’s below 40 degrees or working out until her legs feel like jello.
