My Mind
The pain is great, so alive with feeling. It allows the mind to remember while the heart breaks and crumbles, implodes upon itself. The pain brings it to reality shows us that we live to feel. Now joy is a focus struggled for by most, and the climb, the journey, is intense. Falling stones of water break your bones, as you climb the mountain of sorrow that separates you from the thing you yearn for the most. The one thing that restrains the pain, that thing that makes life seem simple. That makes every obstacle smaller and seem miniscule. But when you finish the climb you come to a fork in your path, the road splits. One way leads to eternal joy with an underlying feeling of love, and the other a dark path that leads to a frowning face, with loneliness and sorrow as a shadow. Which one you choose determines what happens next. The clear choice is the path of joy, but the pull of the sorrowful world leads you elsewhere. A slippery slope slides you towards bad choices. When we make choices our future is altered slightly, sometimes majorly. In the event that we make bad decisions the only correction that can be made is by making a better choice and attempting to fix your problem or problems. Find solutions that will help you to better yourself and help to better the people you surround yourself with. The people around you, whether you realize it or not, they take you as an influence. They may not appear to be but they are looking to you for guidance. When you realize that you are a guide, you begin to forgive yourself for your mistakes. For the things that you have blocked out from your past. The things that you have suppressed so deeply that the only way to retrieve them is to dig and dig until you reach the deepest darkest chasm. Then you try to spark a light in the shadow of the past, the cold wind of all the fears you let run your life puts it out. You light a single match with a small subtle smile that lights the abyss for a second. The brightness gives you hope, another smile brings out a bright burst of emotion. The hole explodes with a happy light, the feelings rush and start the initial filling of the darkness, surrounding you in an overwhelming joy that is hard to reject. Your past whispers to you that it has not left but its physical form is no longer in sight. As the chasm fills you rise, and return to the surface. The field to which you once laid is now sunnier, more colorful, the smell is refreshing, as the lavender that lay about. The breeze is cool but calming. The willow trees reach for the sun as you now reach for your dreams. The willows are done weeping. The wind blows their hair in such a way that forms a smile on the face of all things in the field, including you. Tat smile engulfs the hatred and sorrow that once consumed you. It eats away at the negativity that shadows your life, and you finally realize that life will redeem itself, with the aid of a smile. Because a smile that is sincere will eliminate the fear of all that you face in the path you follow through life. Regardless of the choices you make, you can bring yourself to be happy and pull through all of the hardships. But it takes strength to overcome the obstacles you face no matter how many there are or how often you face them. But you may ask yourself, where you’re going to pull that strength from. You have been beaten and battered by life. All hope was taken from you when you sunk into that hole that attacked you with hatred and caused you to sink in to a slump within a slump. Until… it happened, that moment that brought an instantaneous joy to your face, that you felt first in your heart, and when you smiled it ignited a flame that previously laid dormant. It set ablaze what your nature was truly made of. We are all good even when we’re bad. But we can’t see that until we find our key. No not a physical key, but the key we all have deep inside ourselves that unlocks our souls, and unleashes our inner spirits. And when those spirits are finally unlocked is when we ourselves can unlock the shackles that keep us restrained, and we ourselves may stop weeping as the willows did.
