Lacrosse Camp
I walk around the dorm building aimlessly, looking for something to do. I threw a ball against a wall alone.
There were other people who were there with their friends. Jumping, sprinting, and shouting with glee. Someone asked me if I wanted to play catch with him and his friend. I said sure.
The first lacrosse session finally came. My hands were sweating. What if I mess up? What if I fail? I was the youngest goalie there and all the others were in high school. I stepped in the goal last. The scent of rubber from the turf lingered in the air.
I could hear everyone else chuckling and murmuring amongst each other. The instructor rips the first shot. I could feel the rough turf on my knees as I went down to make a save.
