Bright Lights
Torrents of rain fall
feet tapping a steady rhythm
little pools of water splash around the couple
arms linked
they stroll, huddled close
under the shelter of the umbrella
no amount of trees can protect them from the chasing rain
but they don’t run away from it anyway
the couple enjoys the journey home
secret smiles are shared
as well as the warmth each has to give
pleasure is enough
to keep them in their own world
filled with wonder, blocking out every thing
but the bright lights
