An Uncommon Friendship
Lindsey is my friend
We like to spend time together
We jump rope,
Play with dolls
And even climb trees
But there some things we can’t do together
I don’t know why
People treat her differently
In school she attends a different class
We sit in separate areas of restaurants
We can’t even play in the park together
My friend Lindsey has dark skin
I have light skin
I don’t understand
But apparently that makes a difference
But still Lindsey is my friend
