the game
I played baseball for fun and never thought of it as a competition. I was pretty good ,but I did not think I was that good. I was only playing little league, and I was 10 years old
My team made it to the championship. We had a chance to win the whole league. I was chosen by my coach to pitch in this game. I was really scared because it was only my second year of baseball.
The national anthem was sung. Every word made me even more scared , because I knew the game was growing closer and closer. The game finally came , and I was on the mound. The feeling in my stomach was something unexplainable.
The first pitch was thrown. The second pitch was thrown. Then the third. I got him out!
This was a relief. I was getting through the game really well. I only gave up 1 run so for. It was a great game. It was really fun until a moment I feared the most would come…. We were up by 1 run. The best hitter for the other team came up in the last inning with the bases loaded and 2 outs. This was the only thing I did not want to happen. well, I had to pitch to him eventually. I finally threw the pitch. It was right down the middle and it was crushed. All I could was close my eyes and wonder why I just threw one right down the middle. Then I heard cheering that I did not think I would here. I looked up and the center fielder had caught the ball , and we had won the game!
It was a scary moment right into a very happy moment. We received our trophy and all of my worries were gone. This was exactly how I wanted it to end.
