Would you rather?
If someone asked you,
would you rather hold someone close and not let them fly?
and then realize they were about to die,
or
would you rather let someone receive the beauty of earth,
and then realize the sadness neither mirth?
Some people shield friends, family or even a love one from the adventure
never realizing that they are keeping them from receiving their pleasure,
would you rather is a question often asked,
but never thought about or expressed.
Would you rather fly or die realizing you didn’t live life the way you should,
that you never had a chance to make amends,
or would you even have done this gesture if you could?
Would you rather be shielded from every scratch and bruise,
or later look at that injury, and say I remember that day. Smiling.
If i really thought about all this I could say,
I’m not ready to be shielded in any way.
I want to fly and express my thoughts.
Would you rather be shielded then die?
OR
Be caught flying through the sky happy as a butterfly?
I, me.
Want to fly. Fly into the deep blue sky.
I want to run through valleys or fields. Laughing.
My excitement filling the air.
I, me want to fly.
Would you rather?
