Lady in the Harbor

December 3, 2015

She is:
Independent and mighty,
stoic and serious.
She stands lonely,
in the harbor, in fair or foul weather.
Ships and planes glide by on sea and in sky.
People come admire and pay respect
to the lady in the harbor,
a gift to our nation.

Madam’s torch
a beacon to all immigrants.
Heavy upon her head,
a crown with seven points,
seven oceans, seven continents.

She embodies strength
and freedom.
She is Lady Liberty.
