As Time Passes

The sun
Illuminates
the world, creating dawn
Peaking over the horizon
New day
These be
the beginning
of a new chance to make
memories to last a lifetime
Don’t wait.
Half past
The sun sits now
at its highest peak, still
have many opportunities
Half left
These be
the moments that
define each day as such.
Allowing the concept of time
To pass.
At last,
The moon has come
Atop the dark night sky
taking its place among the stars
Nighttime.

This is a cinquian written for my Creative Writing class. A cinquain is a form of poetry in which each stanza is five lines, each with a ceratin number of syllables (2,4,6,8,2).
