have you ever judged a book by its cover .
have u ever judged a book by it's cover ?
I could answer for you
we always do but there is no way we will feel guilty that we judged a book
it is a book !!
it doesn’t have feelings nor emotion it doesn’t speak nor listen .
BUT PEOPLE DO!!
you go to the library to check out a book .
you see so many types
but the one that grabs your attention is the one with fewer pages ,
the one that has a good-looking cover,
the cute little picture that blinds us from all the other books around .
People are books stacked together on a big giant self .
some are tall .
some are short.
some are skinny.
some are fat .
we always get attracted to the skinniest book that doesn’t have many pages
the one that is covered with all of those models girls with their cute smile
that’s the girl who has more than half a million followers on instagram .
posting pictures of herself wearing a bikini and showing off her fit ,skinny body.
with stomach sucked in , strategic poses and pushed up chest , living an uncandid life .
faking every single moment of her life just to entice people toward her .
She deleted half her pictures and captioned the rest to show how they were faked.
forgetting about her real self , who she is from the inside that people always tend to ignore.
Meanwhile we forget about the book that is standing all alone by itself
not surrounded by others.
the one that got so many pages ,
with those boring blank pictures that have some strange caption
that’s the guy who is all alone by himself shoved in this little corner.
he spends this day alone , and his phone never rings
He wishes to see a notification bar on this phone , or to start a conversation just by up picking a water bottle for someone .
but he knows that he will be ignored and left behind
because he isn’t that most fit, charming guy or the one that sprays tons of cologne to allure people to him .
but we ignore how much of a gentleman he is from the inside
he bought me a drink with his own lunch money even though I don’t know him . he handed it to me without asking himself who is she .
it might be much better from the outside
but we never try to consider the inside of the book
we get blinded from all the appearances around us and forget to see the real truth .
they walk all around glancing and rolling their eyes up and down looking for details to pick on waiting to see my ugly sweater that have a christmas tree on it even though it is
not christmas yet .
I would feel the glances on me as a smack on my chest.
striking me with their eyeballs accusing me as I have done a crime
hurting every organ of my body ,
making me bleed without any liquid dripping off my body .
bleed from the interior that can’t be spotted
because it to deep to reach out for it
as your eyes could not outstretch the whole way across the globe.
i would I pass by them
as if i am unseen , as if they concealed me in pitch black jars , leaving not wishing for anything but to breath .
AM I A BOOK?
is it this book that is written in a foreign language other than english
I would go to school with a bare stomach
waiting for lunch to get it covered with all these fancy foods that my mom would pack for me .
I would lay my lunch that would take the whole table .
the smell would linger around the cafeteria ,
It would frighten everyone away
and I would get these odd stares from people who would pass by my table .
I was all covered with food , but not with a single friend
Were they scared that i would poison them with my food?
I look around the cafeteria
feeling every single glance knocking me down on the floor
their gaze leave empty and full of air
leaving me wishing to have the basic peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
AM I A BOOK?
is it this book that is full of empty pages that could never be understood .
they don’t try to look at my inside .
they judge me based on what they see , not what they feel .
will they accept me for who I am or how I look ?
this is the question , that I always ask myself before facing the whole world .
