My Perfect Getaway

Ever have that one special place you love going to?
A perfect getaway when things get too much to handle?
A place like up north is a perfect place to be.
Cool crisp air blowing through your hair, and gravel crackling underneath your feet like rice crispies in milk.
Your mind unravels and you haven’t got a care in the world.
Big bushy trees blowing in the wind as if they’re about to crash down.
Squirrel, deer, and bear stumble around trying to find that night's feast,
scrambling desperately at the sound of humans coming near.
Little ponds are everywhere accompanied by beautiful, petite waterfalls beside them begging for the dogs to jump in and drench themselves in it’s mucky water.
The simplicity of the atmosphere there is enough to make anyone happy.
Once leaving time hits, you give your goodbye’s and the wind whips through your hair one last time and the gravel beneath your feet soon transforms into concrete
and blacktop.

Absolutely amazing. This just took me to another world. I can relate to this a ton, and it actually brings tears to my eyes. Especially the last few lines, "Once leaving time hits, you give your goodbye’s and the wind whips through your hair one last time and the gravel beneath your feet soon transforms into concrete and blacktop." The sadness and longing when you leave a sacredly is always a close feeling and it follows me everywhere. This poem is very well done, and very well worded. Perfectly and flawlessly. Thank you for the amazing poetry. :)
