Waiting for You
When I see you,
through my eyes
you’re full of answers
you’re full of lies.
Your lips hold
only the most painful ache
your eyes a sea of chance
I’m willing to take.
Call me mindless
burn my name in shame
yet who can defy gravity when
gravity is to blame
I’ve never left the house
too scared to close the door
but with you I never feel
my innocent fears anymore.
you opened the window
and pulled me through
for never have I felt as free
as I am with you.
I know you’ll leave me
for why should you stay?
drowning in my own pool
fading with the day.
they tell me to be confident
for who needs one such as you?
but my crying soul collapses
for I am not one without two.
So label me a damsel
a princess locked away
waiting for a nonexistent hero-
waiting for you to save the day.
