memories: like bruises
fading
falling
forgetting
recall sweet water and
old horses
white beaches
mud abducting my clearance-sticker-sneakers
and you,
my eternal superman,
reaching in from the sodden depths of darkness
to entice
my saddened soul
into light
scarred next to my mangled heart
don't you remember?
