Ashes to Ashes

Ferns grow on graves and flowers too
Always peeking at me and you
One last flourish of friends long gone
Asking us to carry on

Pruning bushes makes them grow
Sunshine often melts the snow
New grass peeks above the ground
Frowns are smiles upside down

What is ugly to you might be pretty to me
Out of death comes birth you see
Though parting is sad, it’s a beautiful thing
And it is much better to live than walk in a dream

There is beauty in life and beauty in death
Often the middle ground we tread
So step out of the shadows and into the light
Death gives beautiful new life

… and it always turns out alright

If Music Be The Food Of Love, Play On

Such a beautifully sad truthful poem :)
