A Skaters War
That bright red streak of blood on the pavement from that last try. With a bloody elbow to match it, a frustrated kid about to snap his board in half. An ankle that is already numb and as swollen as an allergic tongue. Trick after trick, fall after fall, minutes turn to hours. All these hours of pain, pain close enough to torture, but yet he does this to himself. He puts himself through this war, with bruises covering his body, but yet still a smile filling his face. All of this pain and frustration for what? A clip that is less than 7 seconds? A clip that no one will even see? But all the pain is gone when he feels the rubber of his shoes stick to the sharp griptape. All of the frustration is gone after the wheels finally connect to the pavement, and no better feeling in the world than those wheels rolling him away.
