The sand is soft between my toes
The salty air fills my nose
The Atlantic water is cold on my feet
How am I ever supposed to leave?
The cottages are small and cozy
The ocean waves are strong and noisy
The fire's sparks fly in the breeze
I can smell the scent of the tall pine trees
The hot sun beats on the back of my neck
Then we watch as it melts into tiny specks
Forests as far as the eye can see
I walk on their trails and I feel so free
When I'm in Maine the world disappears
So summer is my favorite time of the year
