Outside In
Outside,
Lives people not showing true emotion,
They don’t want people to know how they truly feel
Outside,
People live with masks that make them seem happy,
But,
On the inside,
They are bursting at the seams
Outside,
Lives a girl who is fearless and tough
Yet,
Inside,
Hides a girl who lives in fear
Outside,
Lives a girl as happy as can be
But,
Inside,
Lives a girl with sadness in her eyes.
Outside,
Lives a girl with a mask that always smiles
But,
If you got closer,
You would see the cracks,
Of a sad girl trying to break through.
Outside,
My smile hides my tears,
And my laugh hides my screams
Outside,
Lives a girl doing just fine,
But,
Inside,
Is a girl just barely getting by.
Outside,
Lives a girl that is loud and obnoxious
But,
Inside,
Is a girl as quiet as a mouse
You see,
At first glance people may seem happy
But,
Deep down,
Is something they are trying to hide
