Where I Come From
I come from a place where the grass is green and the weather is hot.
Where families are full of spirit,
and talk with the southern accent that everyone thinks is funny.
The place where houses are built between the mountains that decide the directions of roadways.
It’s the kind of place where people never turn their backs on their families,
The kind of place where families go to church on Sundays,
And are always willing to help those in need, and never ask for anything in return.
The place I come from is known to everyone else for it being the bluegrass state,
but Kentucky is always known as home to me.
