Soldier Poetry
Soldier Duty
Day and night standing at the border
Border job day and night,
Night sleep prohibited, it’s an order
Order’s given by Commander Nick.
Will do anything for their nation
Nation will be safe and sound
Sound of gunshots near a station
Station is now
A war zone.
Bullet in the leg, doesn’t matter
Matter's who wins, and safe comrades.
Comrade down, blood scattered
Scattered men, comrades going down.
Enemy aims for Commander Nick
Nick does not know, has no clue
Clue’s were not given here I had to react
React I did as I flew.
There the bullet went through my chest,
Chest was paining I still felt blessed
Blessed I was to serve in the army
As the heavy lead sank through my bulletproof chest.

My grandfather inspired me to write this poem because he was a general in the army.
