america the free
yet my dreams wander
to somewhere I'd rather be
with superfluous glee
america the free
the land of riches
but there is a place
pockets with nothing but stiches
america the dent in our earth
constantly demanding rebirth
but over there they smile wider
and their wrinkles aren't from frowns
i wonder why their hearts are so big
why they call their neighbors family
over here we cheat thy neighbor
and embracive we'd be damned to be
