I got her
I remember that day perfectly.
I couldn't see.
My world was dark.
I started as a normal girl; only my ghost remained
There is this emptiness where I am now
A dull silence.
I've searched for the same fire I once had in my eyes.
Nowhere was it to be seen.
Until one day,
All that was dull, was now a shade brighter.
...
This little girl
A mind like my own
She seemed different from the rest,
Just like me.
I wanted to help her
I tried and tried
She was strong and I couldn't drag her down
Oh! But one day
Life wasn't in her favor
She had slipped too far
And I had finally got her
Oh! Sweet victory!!
For years and years
Through her blood and tears
I got her.
This story has a twist
For she stood for all teens
And I, for depression
They all started as normal teens; only their ghost remains.

My name is Desinty Mostella, I am 15 years old and I wrote this peice because depression is romanticized and I thought that I should represent how serious of a thing it is and how it actually affects people.
