Just know you're not alone
We're reaching for your hand
Get a grasp, and grab what you can
Time sweeps us off the ground
Leaving the greatness behind
For our savior ahead

He wants your fear and pain to burn
In every little piece that it can
So count those ashes fast
And hold on to your faith
And hope will find you

Sew our love in your heart
And take it up to father
When it's time to depart

And know you'll never be alone
Your dearly beloved has been waiting
For you to come home.

The author's comments:
I wrote this 2 months before I was going to visit my great Grandma Velma in Kansas for Christmas. I dedicate this poem to her even know she was never able to read it. I wrote this in my hopes that she would have strength because she was battling a terrible lung disorder. Also, her husband died several years ago. Unfortunatley, I have only got the chance to meet her twice due to distance. Velma has always been there for my Dad and our family. She wanted the best for us. Velna managed to live 87 years to the fullest. She passed two days after we left Kansas.

We love you grandma Velma.
Thank you for your support and advice.
