An Autumn Day
In the morning when I greet her,
She is spring,
fresh and alive,
Bubbling with energy
for the day to come.
Later when we walk together,
She is summer,
lush and strong,
Warming my chest
as I pull her closer to me.
As the day comes to a close,
She is autumn,
vivid and beautiful,
Shining in the light
of the setting sun.
As we lay in bed at night,
She is winter,
bare and naked,
Cold against my skin,
But warm in my heart,
And I know,
That tomorrow marks the new year
all over again.
