A dad is kind

a dad is sweet 

a dad likes to eat a lot of meat

so he can be strong

and help me along

the way

a dad is cautious

a dad is careful

in case there really is a werewolf

under my bed

a dad is a jokester

a dad is hilarious

he can make me laugh

even if I have

seasonal affective disorder (SAD)

a dad is love able

a dad is loved

no matter if he's pushed or shoved

no matter if he's big or small

no matter if he cares at all

hes loved by most everyone he knows

a dad is a genius a dad is smart

though he may not know

what to put in the shopping cart

he knows how to keep me safe

he knows how to keep me brave

he knows a lot of things I don't

he knows a lot of things I won't

but that's okay because he's here

to tell me everyday of the year

a dad is incorrect

a dad is wrong

when he says that he loves me more

than I could have ever loved him

because the love that I have in my heart

is mostly filled with joy

and kindness and laughter

and so much more

and it's all because of him
