Self Image
With the media today,
How do you allow your 14 year old daughter to buy a magazine
Knowing she could drown in a sea of shame
If she started to compare herself to the beautiful thin models
With the media today,
How do you explain to your 16 year old son that he doesn’t need huge muscles
To become a real Romeo with the ladies
With the media today,
How do you reassure your daughter
That she can be beautiful in jeans, no matter the size
With the media today,
How do you get across to your son
That sometimes it’s okay to eat McDonalds
With the media today,
How do you clarify to your daughter
That she does not need a boyfriend to make her feel pretty
With the media today,
How do you teach your son that there is more than sex in a relationship
And that girls deserve to be treated as equals
Every person is a ticking time bomb with no time displayed as a warning
How do you allow your kids to see this media
Knowing it could increase the speed of their time?
Was the media the beginning of the end?
How do you resolve all these issues with today’s teenagers
About their self-image
That they may not have had
If not for the media today
