Life's Sagacity
I have seen five thousand, two hundred and four sunsets.
Like a heart slipping into a steady beat after a trying day,
Peaceful alizarin cerise infiltrates the horizon.
What sort of person would take any one of these riveting gifts for granted?
I have, and will again.
The greatest beauty in life is life itself,
But what makes life beautiful is the little things.
I have seen five thousand, two hundred and four sunsets.
I have sung in pouring rain, and cried in the warm sun.
I have acquired two vital outlooks through life.
The way a mind is set is the way a life is lived.
We are afraid of the ability within us,
Therefore we cannot place that fragile trust within ourselves.
Though the only faith missing is that belief in our own soul.
To trust in yourself is to sing in sun, and in rain.
I have sung in pouring rain, and cried in the warm sun.
I have prayed for another day, and begged for eternal rest.
No faith in a tomorrow is a low feeling.
No desire for a tomorrow is a heinous thing to have to endure.
To wish for an end to a precious life, your own precious life, is an onerous thought to produce.
But by experience, it is very possible.
It is originated by a suffering so immense, so impenetrable, and unimaginable.
To overcome that haunting consideration is an accomplishment to live for.
To realize the beauties of life after wanting no more sparks a new start.
It creates an entire new being, with a fire never to be dampened.
I have prayed for another day, and begged for eternal rest.
I have trembled in the face of danger, and overcome every challenge.
A challenge is something beyond an extra curricular activity.
A challenge is an appraisal in strength and spirit.
It will tear at you and rip parts of you away, and may even dispose of you.
But if you believe in the abilities God bestowed on you, you will either fail with grace and acceptance, or conquer with pride and satisfaction.
Danger is an image of disputation, an illusion.
Without it, what would life be?
I have trembled in the face of danger, and overcome every challenge.
I have lost confidence, and accepted every part of my being with affection.
Dependence on others is desirable, but self-reliance is essential.
How can others believe in us if we cannot?
I may be a small voice to you, but the words I speak are what produce or decay my confidence, my contentment in myself.
Who are you to say who I am not?
Who am I to say who you are not?
I have lost confidence, and accepted every part of my being with affection.
I have lived for four hundred forty nine million, six hundred and ninety four thousand seconds.
My heart has beat more than five hundred million times, and it just thudded again.
Each second on Earth is precious, and each dream is of essence.
I refuse to let small things bother me, for who knows how many beats I have left.
See life as an opportunity, a challenge, and take faith with you.
Let the sunset surge through you.
See life how you want to live it.
Believe in the ability you have been blessed with.
Some say life is a journey, but I say it is celebration.
I have lived for four hundred forty nine million, six hundred and ninety four thousand seconds, and I look forward to more.
