I am Emperor Hongwu of the Ming Dynasty of 1368.
Today I’m going to tell you a fu style poem based on my life and all the other emperors’.

We eat our meals from luscious flavors of South China.
Servants bring it for us not from North Carolina.
We are very much fond of sports.
Though they are not like modern sorts.
Boys would learn to master the sword and knife.
Girls would paint and play board games in a decent life.
Indeed the imperial court was for arts from all around.
Don’t you assume it should be crowned?
It isn’t easy to have so many wives.
They say “Who is your favorite wife” with their lives!
Do you think that we don’t hold our activities outside?
Of course we do, with pride.
We so believe on the “mandate of heaven”.
Whilst in our age of seven.
We have had a Empress named Dowager Li.
Oh she seemed to like the sea.
All in all our palace life was very grand.
See how the Ming Dynasty was beautifully planned?

I had to do this because the whole class had to in 6th grade as our school project so I chose poetry.
