Memories
The war may end,
But he lives on forever.
Memories come and go,
in and out of my head.
Thinking back to when he was well.
It was a rather happy time, constantly competing at everything.
He was like an older brother, not a relative.
But, as life goes on,
things change.
Dramatically.
Years go by, getting sicker and sicker.
Trying to fight a war that has no end.
As the life of the young soul is blowing away
memories try to go away.
But I cherish every moment with him.
He may not be here today but but he is here in spirit.
