Grief is an Enemy
Nothing can take the heart like grief
grief can begin like a mustard seed
it starts small
until it grows so larges it feels as if you might explode
grief is no friend but a well known enemy
whom is sly and quiet
whom can easily take you down
it’s hard to fight off such an emotion so vile
grief is but a common enemy
something we all must fight
grief is the ugly Hydra
us knights must fight
we watch her as she rears her ugly head
as she spits acid at our metal heads
melting our armor
leaving us weaker than before
even if we behead her
she simply grows two more
grief is the ugly feeling inside us all
she has many faces
some more ugly than before
guilt
depression
fear
she and her friends enjoy taking us down at any cost
no matter where you run she will find you
we are not gods
we are not invincible
we are human
we learn from our faults
that which grief has happily reminded us
grief is no friend but a well known enemy
grief is but a common enemy
grief is but a common fear

I'm not really sure what inspired me actually. Haha. There isn't much I hope to influence others with this piece but maybe it will help people realize not to be so self-centered? I'm not so sure about that.
