Lightswitch
Why did you stop turning me on?
You said I was the light of your life,
Was I too dim?
If you could see me now,
(Which you can’t, it’s too dark),
You would see only the last of my light,
Because the rest of it was in your power.
All I wanted from you was your permission to shine,
But it seems all you were after was my watts.
I thought you and I had a spark.
Chemistry may break us both,
But I swear there was electricity.
Once, we really connected.
They said that one of us would be more attached to the other.
You used me!
My wires are torn and my glass is worn,
If we could still power through this-
Blackout.
Maybe I could work again,
But it’s time for me to take control
Instead.
