Voluntary Mute
Enigmatic in speech
My words don’t ever quite reach
Inept at communication
Lolled into a indefinite abdication of narration
Yet, inside I am exuberant
Just waiting for vocal improvement
Answering in full, every statement ever spoken
Never backing down, always rising, unbroken
Enigmatic no more
Captivation in every verbal war
Always the victor, never losing face
Radiating true eloquence and grace
Voluntary mute, a thing of linguistic past
At last, standing tall and proud, no longer harassed
Just a lackluster endeavor
Accomplished maybe never
Living up to the expectations given with my stammer

I've spent a large portion of my life trying extremely hard to be heard. Growing up I always had a harder time getting the words and it got even harder when I got braces early on in elementary school. I hope that by writing this I am able to encourage other people who are going through the same thing I did. I also hope to show them that they are not ever alone.
