sword
I am from a Legoland set where the men eat all day and the women do all
the work
I am from eating chicken nuggets on weekend nights while I watch Power
Rangers save the world.

I am from playing my Nintendo DS under my covers while my mom thinks
I’m asleep
From singing and dancing with The Wiggles while I get ready for school
Mom shouts for my sister and I to hear, “Stop messing around before you
get hurt!”

I am from eating delicious donuts before heading off to school
From playing the intense lava game with my sister who always cheats
Dad wonders why kids are never tired and so playful

I am from playing with my cousin’s fun Wii in their cool basement
From jabbing the piano keys thinking I am making the best music in the
world
Robot dances and says, “Can’t touch this!”

I am from splashing around the pool and soaking everyone
From spending time with my family at Virginia Beach
Dad says, “This is some quality stuff!”

I am from the five cakes that spelled out “TWINS” on my 1st birthday
From playing so much because of all the excitement
Mom smiles and tells everyone how happy she is.

I am from dancing with my toy robot, jumping from chair to chair, and eating Iyan
I am from being the best goalkeeper on my school team
I am from playing the car racing game in Chuck E Cheese and being
dragged over to go eat my pizza.

I am from a home filled with joy and happiness
A home where I can be myself
A place where I can do anything I want to
