My Layers
Warm
My body is warm
It is the one thing I need
Yet I hate every bit of it
Cool
My first layer is cool to the touch
I have no say in it
But it keeps me here
Cold
My second layer is cold
It is tolerable
But uncomfortable
Freezing
My third layer is frostbite
Too cold to touch
Too cold to try
Frosty
My fourth layer is unfriendly
It is unwilling to accept
It is unwilling to change
Raw
My fifth layer is exposed
It is naïve
It is weak
Numb
My final layer is aloof
It doesn’t feel anything anymore
It is just there
