Motivation to Alter the Mind
Vibrant flowers wilt under the Arizona sun
As their stems and petals, of resistance tire
And burn a flame blue
Like a doll of corn in the fire
Her powder blue dress is reflected through the looking glass
As she sprints but does not budge an inch
Tulips sing of the humanity she’s lost
By altering her mind with the drugs
She collapses in a field drenched by the scalding sun
Deceit merged with lies, do her young mind tire
The betrayal of a first love burns her cheeks
Like a doll of corn in the fire
