Friends?

Are intriguing, they always lend a hand in issues.

Tsk Friends will betray you, Leave you behind.

I attempt to help them,

It is gladly accepted.

But I get locked up.

They call me insane.

I don’t mind.

It’s highly insulting.

Do they use me?

Not particularly we all work together.

If anything they’d rather me dead…

Friends?

Yes friends, they are needed to keep me sane.

Bah don’t say such foolish words; I don’t need them to keep me sane!

A little tip on reading this poem is that it is meant to be a two voices poem. A two voices poem is where you take two people with differing views/opinions and write through them while adding similarities to the two people, linking them together. The first line of each stanza is both of them talking at one, the second line is a young girl I've created named Joey who was a lonely child who takes great interest in science and that can be seen as an unhealthy obsession in others eyes but she really cares for her friends, then the third line is a young boy my friend created to add to Joeys story. The boy’s name is Syliph and he once had friends but they began to deem him as threatening and untrustworthy resulting in him feeling betrayed and alone.
