Ode to My Hair

this hair is nappy hair
it needs special treatment
to look fluffy
it can’t fit into hats
without messing it up
this is controlled hair
it stays the same
it has no rights
it stays where I want it to
this hair is wild
this hair owns its own kingdom
it speaks words of wisdom
to charm its enemies
and have them surrender.
