I watched her grow up
I’m still getting older
But, when i get colder,
They see my age if they look closer
People celebrate when they get one,
i have at least a 100 when i’m done

  * * *

Every year she gets older,
My babies fly down to her shoulders
They change color each season
But then they die, for some reason.

* * *

She has grown old,
And left me alone,
But wait,
There is a little face,
Standing at my base

* * *

Now, I am close to my end,
But at least I made a new friend
