Teachers Pet
It’s true you see, I’m not the teacher’s pet,
I do well in school so my parents don’t sweat.
When I get a good grade I think,
How proud my parents should be at me,
But when I get home my parents had forgotten,
Sometimes all I want to do is set free,
It’s not that easy for me to be me,
I am always Struggle, and struggling,
For them to just let me be who I am,
But I have to be them, no different,
One day I tell you, I will soar high in time.
But for now, I will keep quiet and rhyme.

I wrote it at home one day, Just to see what my parents would say. And they smiled. They thought it was amazing and they said they would try harder.
